Tahnia Jordan Jones stormed to victory in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Second Round held at Bicton Arena in Salterton, Devon on Saturday.
With two Horse of the Year Show tickets on offer for this October’s Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Championship Final, two action packed rounds ensued before just nine combinations remained to go head to head in the final jump off.
Sixteen year-old Tahnia Jordan Jones from Swindon, Wiltshire finished in first place with Kerry Grimster’s 6 year-old grey mare, Heartbreaker Express II. This partnership made light work of the first two rounds to take their place in the final jump off. Keeping her eye on the prize, Tahnia rode an accurate and speedy round to cross the finish line in 43.09 seconds and slipped straight in to first place.
The riders and ponies that finished in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
