What a fantastic response from the Goring Heath Horse Trials:
We had a fantastic Goring. Both days went really smoothly. The Saturday was a beautiful day but Sunday was really rather grim.
We had 2 super days of eventing. I think the new cross country site is coming into its own. The viewing is superb & Harry Williams did an amazing job with designing the tracks. There was the new water jump as well as the new 105 course. We will have to avoid any big expenditure for a while, which is a shame as the tractor has just died!! There is still more tweeking to do but we are definitely getting there & reluctant as I was to move from the old course, I can really see the benefits of this new one.
As usual, we have had some lovely comments. Just a few below:-
A quick note to say thanks to all the officials and volunteers who cheerfully stuck to their posts yesterday [Sunday].
Cheeky and I had an awesome time. As usual all the cross country fences were beautifully presented and dressed, you definitely set the standard.
Thanks so much for all the hardwork that you put in, it is definitely appreciated. Hopefully I managed to thank most of the volunteers while course walking or before each phase yesterday. Well done for also managing to attract so many sponsors, if there is anything I can do to thank them please just ask?
Could I just say THANK YOU to you and the organising committee of Goring Heath Horse Trials. what a total success, lovely venue, fab new course, and love the new water …. has always been one of my favourites and you have pulled off a brilliant feat moving the XC to a new site! I know how hard it is to run one of these events, and it all came together… fantastic!!! The food area is lovely .. all together … great trade stands .. (hey was that the couple from Horses in Sport helping in the secretaries and the food wagon?)
I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the young teenagers doing the parking and show jumping arena party at your event last weekend. They were enthusiastic, cheerful and very keen. I'm sure they were appreciated by everyone attending your event as they certainly helped with the smooth running of it.

The dates for next year are March 30th & 31st as well as September 1st & 2nd.
